It’s nearly Easter and time to stock up on chocolate and wine - hooray! But which chocolate should you pair with which wine?
Did you know that white chocolate doesn't contain any cacao (just cacao fat) and is super versatile - so it is the best choice to ensure it goes with whatever wine you're enjoying. I particularly recommend Chardonnay with white chocolate.
If you're drinking rosé this Easter, pair it with some caramel chocolate and it will not disappoint your taste buds.
When it comes to dark chocolate (anything with over 35%-99% cacao), it pairs best with heavier reds. I recommend Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec or Shiraz.
My Chocolate & Wine Guide:
1. White Chocolate - enjoy with any wine but particularly Chardonnay.
2. Caramel Chocolate - Celebrate with Rosé Prosecco.
I recommend: La Gioiosa Rosé Prosecco, £11.00 from Tesco but only £8.00 when bought with your Tesco ClubCard!
3. Dark Chocolate - Snack and sip with rich reds.
I recommend: Wynns Coonawarra Estate Shiraz, £14.99 from Majestic or only £11.99 when you buy 6 or more bottles.
My Top Tips for buying chocolate:
Look for only 3 ingredients: Cacao solid, sugar and cocoa sugar.
