I’m not one to say “I told you so”... And I won’t! But it’s so exciting to see English wines getting the love and recognition they deserve.
I’ve been loving and discovering English whites and sparkling wines for years now. Originally, it was just because I’m curious to know about and support local products. Plus, as a UK-based wine influencer, you get invited to a lot of local wineries. But the more I’ve explored and learned about English wines, the more I’ve enjoyed them.
Of course, it’s all relatively new. As an industry, wine moves slowly, and anything less than centuries old can be viewed as an upstart. Now, though, we’re starting to see some real interest and recognition.
English whites winning big at the International Wine Challenge feels like a genuine milestone for a growing wine scene here in the UK.
