Celebrating 70 Years of Hambledon Vineyard with an English Afternoon Tea Party

An English Afternoon Tea Party at Hambledon Vineyard.

Hambledon recently celebrated 70 years and the UK’s oldest commercial vineyard.

Hosted by Hambledon Vineyard owners Ian & Anna Kellet and Mentzendorff.

Established in 1952 by Major-General Sir Guy Salisbury-Jones, Hambledon Vineyard is a small family-run vineyard on a very big mission: to create the Finest English Fizz.

My favourite wine was the Premier Cuvee lead with 67% chardonnay with an incredible 62 months on lees giving this wine a lovely texture. Other than the fact England can make amazing sparkling wine we make fantastic sparkling pinot Meunier and this has 22% which shines orange blossom.

Its not cheap - slightly more expensive at £55 a bottle, available from their website and Vivino app £45.

Crisp and textured and definitely worth a try.

Perfect with high tea!
