Autumn is here and the wine world is getting really exciting as it’s harvest time!

I’m taking clients to English vineyards to witness all of the action up close and personal, there’s no better time to do a company day out to a vineyard than right now, as you really get to understand how what’s in your glass is made.

If you’d like to visit an English vineyard with your team or your clients, hosted by Elizabeth & Wine, let me know!

When is a wine not a wine?

When it’s a fake! Fakes and frauds are, sadly, a thing in the wine world and they’re also ever -more prevalent in everyday life.

I was recently mentioned in The Independent about a near-miss fraud experience my Mum had when someone tried to impersonate me.

So what does all this have to do with wine?

Well, I love to turn a negative into a positive - so I decided to create a fabulous new wine theme all around the subject of fraud and fakes. Fraud is a key issue in the business world for both corporates and professional services firms alike - and it’s also a real issue in the wine world. This got me thinking about using frauds and fakes as a theme for wine tastings, and clients love it!

During the wine tasting for clients, I talk about fraud and fakery in the wine world and how the issue affects the sector. I also introduce one “fraudulent” wine into the tasting experience, maybe it’s a malbec masquerading as a shiraz, or a chardonnay hiding among the chenin blancs. Could you spot it?

This theme is perfect for law firms or any business with an interest in fraud and intellectual property.
