Autumn is a wonderful time for wine as we move away from the light crisp wines of summer to the fuller-bodied bottles that suit the colder weather. My autumn has been was filled with wines from around the world, including some old friends and some new bottles being tasted for the very first time!

Black History Month
October is also Black History Month and I always enjoy showing wines made by winemakers of colour at my corporate wine tastings for Black History Month.
Why not try “Aslina” skin-contact Chenin Blanc, made by South Africa's first female black winemaker Ntsiki Biyela and and now available in Waitrose for £16.99. Biyela has worked harvests in Bordeaux and Tuscany, and her winemaking philosophy draws on this experience.
A delicate tint comes from soaking the Chenin Blanc grapes in their skins for seven days. This lovely South African wine has notes of honeybush tea and rich yellow pear.
